PROJECT LIFE WEEK 23

This week was a short week of school for Fred as he had the day off school on Friday to head to the Coast for the long weekend.

Fred caught on to the loom band craze.  He was calling his creations bracelets when I suggested that he might want to call them MAN BANDS.

Polly loves helping bake.  We made some biscuits and a cake to take to the big kids on the weekend.

On Thursday night, Evie went out for dinner to help celebrate a friend's birthday.

Good morning Gold Coast.  We were actually planning on camping but the weather forecast wasn't great.  As it turned out, it was perfect winter weather.

Saturday morning we took Evie to rowing training.  We stayed for a little while to watch her crew on the water.

On Saturday Jack has a trial game of rugby against TSS at the Coast.  Jack was actually captain of the 14As and they had an easy win over TSS.

Fred was pretty chuffed that Jack let him play some games on his computer.

 

On Sunday we went for a drive down to Hastings Point to visit some friends.  Fred was happy that he caught a wee little fish.  Polly filled up her pockets with treasures collected along the beach.

Finished up the weekend on Monday with a walk on the beach before taking the big kids back to school and the long drive home.

Another week bites the dust.  

 

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 22

This week was the week of Gibson Gorilla.

On Monday Freddie arrived home from school with Gibson Gorilla.  His job was take care of Gibson for the week, brush his teeth, dress him for bed, read him a bedtime story each night and fill out the diary.  Needless to say, someone else in the family became very attached to Gibson.

Gibson liked driving Barbie's convertable.

He helped Freddie do his homework.

He enjoyed a makeover while Freddie was at school.

He liked hanging out with the other toys.

He loved his trip to the park.

Ate loads of bananas.

Gibson and Doug became good friends.  Fred and Polly loved having Gibson for the week and Mum was quite happy for him to return to school on Friday.

She has the BEST life and finds the perfect sunny spot every morning.

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 21

This week was a relatively uneventful and quite week at home.  A quick trip to Toowoomba on Saturday for Fred to play footy.

This week Fred started on Home Readers.  He is as keen as mustard and easily read the Level 1 book by himself.  He really enjoys learning which is wonderful and makes homework so much more enjoyable.  He is making awesome progress with his sight words.

Always eager to help if there is a hose or water involved.

Don't even ask about the choice of outfits.  Started off relatively normal and then she insisted on the pink number.  You are only two once (thank goodness!)

Looking for more biscuits or something that's not from the fruit bowl.

He still likes to play cars in the dirt.

Fred played footy in Toowoomba on Saturday.  Gran and Darra came and watched.

This photo of Polly was taken at the footy.  This is her classic I've just been roused on look.  Her chin drops to her chest and head tilts to the side.  You only have to look at her the wrong way it will result in one of these classics.

On Saturday afternoon when we got home from Toowoomba, Fred and Brett went on an overnight fishing/camping adventure.

Serious excitement on Sunday when Fred arrived home with a big cod that he caught be himself.  Brett has definitely found himself a fishing buddy now.

Eve is super busy at school.  At the moment she is juggling Touch Footy, Cross Country training, preseason rowing training and hopefully a bit of study!

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 20 AND A LAYOUT

Week 20 was a pretty average week for us.  Nothing out of the ordinary.

As part of Fred's homework each week he has sight words to learn.  This week he started on Pack 3, there are 14 words in each pack.  He knows 42 sight words already.  Good job Fred.

Polly loves to feed the cats and Doug.  She particularly likes to feed them copious amounts of cat biscuits and she also like to taste test a few herself.  This week she was caught with the entire box of cat biscuits snacking away as she watch ABC Kids.  This child is so WRONG.

Fred has been enjoying our mild autumn weather and going for a quick bike ride before school each morning.

Everything we do takes twice as long with Polly "helping". At the moment she is obsessed with any cleaning product spray bottle.  Shame she isn't as obsessed with cleaning up all the messes that she makes around the house.

In big news this week was Polly moving from her cot to a big bed.  She was terrribly excited as was Fred.  Next milestone is toilet training and giving the dummy to the Dummy Fairy.

On Friday night we travelled to Toowoomba ready for Fred's rugby carnival on Saturday. He played 4 games, scored a couple of tries and even managed to tag a couple of players.

Polly managed to eat her way through the four games of rugby.

This term, as well as Cross Country, Jack has been playing soccer for the might 14Ds.  The team is mainly made up of boarders and gives the boys something to do on Saturday morning.  Here they are in all their glory.

No photos of Eve but she is happy and busy.  She has started pre season rowing training, just finished Cross Country and still has a couple of rounds of Touch Football to go.
