SWIMMING SEASON IS OVER!

Hopefully things will start to slow down in our household with swimming season just about over ....  we have spent the last few days in Brisbane at the Queensland School State Championships with Jack finishing the season on a fantastic note ....

He swam in seven events and made the finals for five ...

7th in 100m Breaststroke and 50m Freestyle, 5th in 50m Butterfly, 4th in 50m Breaststroke and 100m Freestyle .... we are so proud of him and all his hard work and determination .... he was really hoping to make into the top three for one event which means swimming in the Queensland team at Nationals but we think that there is plenty of time for that ... he has made so much progress this season .... last season he competed in 3 events and was over the moon when he made the final for one event ... ambition is a funny thing!  So the Gundy pool closes on Friday for another season and the Prosser family get to sleep in again, yippee!

Polly is 3 months old today .... I know, where has the time gone .... catching up on 365 photos ....

Polly continues to be an amazingly content and happy bubba .... she is a happy little thing and lately she is very busy checking out everything around her ... she loves hearing Fred's voice and always turns her head to find him .... she is super strong and loves lifting her head .... she is just gorgeous.

HELLO

Another weekend comes to an end ... more swimming in our household ... Friday night was our school swimming carnival ... Evie was third runner up for Age Champion .... Jack was Age Champion and broke all four records for his four 50m swims ..... to say he was happy is a huge understatement!

Saturday was our Swimming Club Championships .... Jack won age champion and Evie got a second place in the 400m Free ...

was a good afternoon.

Then on Sunday, just because they hadn't had enough of swimming, Jack and Eve went off to the Texas Triathlon ... Evie did the swim leg for Claudia and Tori ...

they came third in their age group ... Jack did the swim for a mens' team ...

they got first place (photos courtesy of Jot as I didn't go).

Freddie is still swimming too .... he actually started swimming lessons at the town pool one morning a week, the photo above ... he loves his lesson and can't wait to get out in the big pool like Jack and Evie.

Update on Miss Polly who is almost 10 weeks old ... she has dropped the graveyard feed which is brilliant, has been two weeks now.  She is really smiley and loves to coo and gurgle away, it is the sweetest thing.  She also seems much more settled and there have been less of her yelling sessions, I think that she must have been going through a bit of a growth spurt.  I think that I would like to freeze her about now and not let her grow anymore!  Catching up on 365 photos (last post was Day 55) ...

Day 61, had to buy Polly a new outfit as it was so cool in Toowoomba.

Day 63, she is really alert now and loves to follow voices and smile at everyone.

Day 64, there is something so cute about a baby all wrapped up with a cute beanie on .... the cutest little bear every.

Day 65, just trying to catch that gummy smile on camera and not being successful at all.

Day 68, waking up in my bed after we both went back to bed after the 6am bottle.  Polly loves stretching and her facial expressions are hilarious ...

SWIMMING OVERLOAD .....

You probably don't want to hear about anymore swimming but I like to blog about it so that it's recorded for future reference .... so here goes, last Wednesday we went to Gatton for our school regional swimming trials ... this carnival is to make it into the Darling Downs school swimming team which then goes onto the State Championships .... Evie swam in three events, 50 Free, 100 Free and 50 Back and did PBs in all strokes ...

Jack had a fantastic meet, which he has trained really hard for and has been totally focused on .... 1st in 50m Free and he broke a record (he has been trying to get under 30 seconds and swam a 29.91).... 3rd 100m Free .... 2nd 50m Back ... 5th 100m Back ... 1st 50m Breast and he broke a record ... 1st 100m Breast .... 1st 50m Fly ... 2nd 100m Fly ... and 2nd Medley ...

He will now swim all those events at the Queensland School Swimming Championships at Chandler at the end of the month ..... last year he only made the team in three events.  Hard work pays off!

On the weekend the Darling Downs Regional Championships were held in Toowoomba on Saturday and Sunday ... both Jack and Evie swam ...

Jack did really well once again ... first in both the 50m and 100m Breaststroke .... second in 50m and 100m Fly .... second in 50m and 100m Free ... and second in the IM and 200m Breaststroke .... lots of PBs and some more medalions for his collection.  Evie swam a PB in her 100m Free.

This weekend we have our school swimming carnival and our Club Championships ... nearly at the end of the season.

 

COUNTRY SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

On Saturday, Jack and Evie competed in the Country Championships held in Stanthorpe .... this carnival involves all the country clubs in our region ... we are so lucky that Goondiwindi has such a strong Swimming Club, thanks mainly to great coaches ... the whole team did really well, winning the overall points tally for another year ... Jack and Evie swam really well too ...

Evie competed in 4 x 50m events and swam 3 PBs .... she took 4 seconds off her butterfly and came 5th overall which was exciting ... she was happy with all of her swims and already looking forward to her next carnival.

Jack competed in 11 events ... he received 10 firsts and 1 second ... he also broke 4 records and was awarded 12 Year Old Boy Age Champion .... needless to say, he was happy with his efforts.  I can't tell you how happy swimming makes both Jack and Evie ... they love training, they love competing and they particularly love all the friendships they make along the way ... such a great sport when they are young.

Yesterday was Day 12 for Miss Polly ...

I love to swaddle my newborns up nice and tight, they seem to love it and sleep for hours!

Today was Day 13, look at our little pudding, creases everywhere, obviously Polly is in a good paddock.

ALL OVER FOR THE SEASON ...

 
It feels a bit weird for everyone today .... no swimming training ... the big kids came home from school on the bus ... no trip to town for Freddie and I ... no slush puppy for Fred ... no playing cars in the dirt at the pool .... it will take some getting used to after 6 months of being at the pool from Monday to Friday.

Last Wednesday we travelled to Brisbane for Jack to compete in the Queensland School Swimming Titles .... Jack swam in 2 relays and 3 individual swims .... 50m Breaststroke, 100m Freestyle,100m Breaststroke .... this was his first time swimming at Chandler ... it was a huge learning curve ...

 
Jack was part of the Darling Downs team, there were 3 other swimmers from Goondiwindi ... the little country swimmers were so cute ... you could easily tell the kids who trained in an outdoor pool!

 
 
 
He swam personal bests for all his swims ... 100m Freestyle he came 19th in the State ... 100m Breaststroke he came 12th .... and for the 50m Breaststroke he came 9th and made it to the Final ...

 
His goal was to make it to a Final ... he was super nervous and actually did a slower time than his heat managing to come last ....

 
 
 

 
we could not have been more proud ... making a FINAL at his first Queensland Titles was a fabulous achievement.  He has already set goals for next season which won't begin until mid September.  Next up is netball and rugby.
