NOW HE'S THREE

 
Fred at three .... a very big boy now ....       

• he sleeps in a big boy bed with his Wiggles doona cover
• he loves apples, green beans, corn, rice crackers, chocolate, and lamb chops
• still has a bottle, sometimes two and at a push maybe three bot bots (bottle of milk) every night
• still has a lunch time sleep for a couple of hours
• Diego is his favourite TV show
• rides his scooter like a speed demon
• hates the big kids bossing him around but quite likes telling the big kids what to do
• is Fearless Freddie for sure

 

• proclaims that it is MY TURN when he wants to watch ABC Kids
• loves playing the ipad and iphone
• talks alot, I mean never shuts up
• loves to collect the eggs and decorate them with pens
• says WHY about 1763 times a day
• says I'M REALLY HUNGRY when he sees food that he likes, such as chocolate
• has a great imagination and talks to himself when he is playing
• he loves reading books

 

• says YOU'RE WELCOME when you thank him
• is quite shy of new people and unfamilar situations
• says BLESS YOU ME when he sneezes
• is independent and likes to do things for himself
• he has a sprinkling of freckles across his nose
• makes us laugh with all the funny things he says
• he says that he can't wait to open up Mum's tummy and see the baby
• he is fabulous at entertaining himself

Fred at three is all these things and so much more ... he is loved by all and has brought so much joy to our lives in his three years.

THREE

On Saturday, Freddie turned three .... when he woke up, he came into our room and jumped into our bed .... we made a big fuss and sang Happy Birthday, and he said, "Now I am really three!"  He has been telling anyone who cares for quite some time now that he is 3, some days he is actually 11.  To me, it only seems like yesterday that our big, beautiful bubba was born ...

 
 
And then in a heartbeat, he was a toothly little one year old.

 
Quickly followed by turning two and being totally scared of the candles on the cake.

 
And now a big three year old who enjoyed absolutely every moment of his birthday.

I think that his preconception of his birthday was a cake which he helped make on Friday ...

 
the Happy Birthday song and maybe a present ... well it was all that and so much more .... I love that three year olds are so easily pleased and don't need all the bells and whistles that bigger kids love.

 
Here is he trying to hold up three fingers ... Evie blew up lots of balloon to give the house a festive feel.

 
 
All his presents were a huge hit ... Duplo farm from Jack, Playdough from Eve, Diego truck from Mum and Dad, cars from the Jacksons and a Duplo police truck from Gran and Darra.

 
 
Jack and Evie had just as much fun as Freddie playing all day.

 
 
 
 
Evie organised the "party" and helped decorate the cake ... Freddie seriously loved it all.

 
 
 
He finished off his day with his first swim of the season, it was so cold but he loved it ... crazy.

The balloons are still floating around the house and he is already asking when his next birthday is!

The bigs are on school holidays, Freddie loves having them at home bossing them around and making them play with him ... I love it too!  Back soon, thanks for stopping by.

2 YEARS, 8 MONTHS AND 3 DAYS ....

 
This little man is almost 3, he is so grown up and continues to be a treasure ... there have been many milestones, big and small ...

• He absolutely loves Charlie and Lola and In The Night Garden ... they are his favourite TV shows for sure and he also loves reading the books ... it is so funny listening to him repeat all the crazy names from In The Night Garden ... Macca Pacca, Ninky Nonk, Iggle Piggle, need I go on? 
• He goes to the toilet for ones and twos all by himself ... rarely are there accidents.
• He hates getting into trouble, the bottom lip drops and the eyes tear up whenever there are stern words.
• When he is in trouble, with the dropped lip and big watery eyes, he says, "I lus you Mum!"  Pretty hard to stay angry.
• When he hears me rousing on the big kids he always asks, "Are you happy Mum?" 
• He loves counting things and is so very proud of himself when he gets the numbers right .... beyond 5 is fairly random.
• He is a parrot and is very talented at repeating all the inappropriate things that the big kids say.

 

• Pink is his favourite colour ... pink milk, pink straw, a pink plate and cup and pink biscuits.
• Favourite foods are Wombok salad, crackers, ice-cream, lollies, apples and corn.
• He is bossy and lets you know if you aren't doing the right thing ... I get roused on for wearing my slippers outside .... Eve gets roused on for being in Jack's room .... Jack gets roused on for not hanging up his towel .... and Dad gets roused on for having his boots on inside.
• If he doesn't particularly like something in the clothes department then he will say, "It's too big me."
• He constantly talks to himself ... I love listening to his make believe play.
• If he isn't ready for his lunch time nap he will say, "But there is no moon."
• He still sleeps in his cot with Boo, dun dun and bop bop.

 

• He loves helping do the farm jobs ... chooks, horse, piglets ... going in the tractor of the farm ute with Dad is a big favourite.
• He is quite independent and likes to do things for himself ..... he is not worried if his boots are on the wrong feet or his undies are all twisted, he just wants to be a big boy.

 

 

• He loves talking on the phone particularly to Granny and Darra.
• He takes his little bag of trucks, tractors and cars everywhere we go and finds a patch of dirt or sand and plays ... he is not happy is there isn't any sand or dirt.

He is so much fun ... everyday there is something new... tonight when he went to bed, I said, "Goodnight Fred, Mum loves you."  He replied, "I lus you SO MUCH Mum."  He knows how to keep Mum wrapped around his chubby little finger.

READING WITH FREDDIE ...

 
He still loves books ... today I found him in Jack's room doing a spot of reading ... I grabbed my camera which he thought was an invitation for some one on one reading time ....

FRED:  Book please Mum.

MUM:  You read the book to me Fred.

 
FRED:  What's that Mum?  That a cow, moo, moo.

 
FRED:  What that mum?  That a sheep, baaaaaaaaa.

 
FRED:  Where man gone Mum?

 
FRED:  That a chook Mum.

 
FRED:  Dog Mum, woof, woof .... one, two, two, four.

 
FRED:  There's the man Mum!

 
FRED: And that dog Mum.

MUM:  Lovely reading Fred, thanks so much.

I love watching him read ... he little voice becomes so animated and really takes in all the detail in each page ... his face lights up as he recognises things and I love that he is making up his own stories ... precious!

FREDDIE AT TWO ....

I was watching Freddie put his boots on by hiself and it occurred to me just how independent he is becomming .... it also occurred to me that I need to document Freddie's two year old milestones ....

• At 2 Freddie loves to jump on the trampoline without any assistance thank you very much!
• He likes to put his shoes on by hiself often on the wrong feet but that's OK.
• He says, "What's that Mum?" at least 50 times every day.  He is also beginning to speak in sentences.
• Playing with Jack's cars on Jack's bed is a favourite thing to, lining them all up and driving them around.
• As soon as he hears a motorbike he can't put his boots on quick enough in anticipation of a ride.

 

• Favourite foods include crackers, juice, strawberries, grapes, grated cheese, vegemite cruskits, lollipops, crackers, hot chips, icing on cakes,special coffees and biscuits.
• Loves playing with lego people and tiny little lego cars that break into a million pieces and then his big brother goes off his head.

 

• He wears size 2 clothing and is quite tall for his age.
• He loves watching ABC Kids and talks to the Playschool Hosts, the Wiggles and Postman Pat.
• "Freddie do!" He likes to do things without assistance.

 

• He is a runner ... if you let go of his hand, he is off.
• He has had one hair cut and also one dose of head lice.
• He loves looking at the photos on the computer and putting names to all the faces ... sometimes he is Bubba and other times he is Feddie.
• Another favourite game is to tell me the owner of each item of clothing as I fold the washing.
• He has lovely manners and my heart melts when he says, "Sank Sue Mum." Which translates to thank you Mum.
• He likes routine.
• When the phone rings he says, "Hello Ganny!"  He must think that Granny does nothing else but sit on the phone!
• He collects the eggs with Jack every afternoon.
• Helps himself to drinks out of the fridge.
• Has started to throw a few tantrums .... stomps his feet, cries and throws in a high pitched scream ... so looking forward to more!

 

• He loves cuddles.
• He refuses to sit in the shopping trolley seat ... he likes to stand up in the trolley ensuring that he squases as many things as possible.
•   He is relatively good at entertaining himself.

 

• He doesn't like having his photo taken (I wonder how that happened!!!!)
• He loves going to bed ... bedtime is never a problem as long as he has got his dummy and Blue .... he still has a lunchtime sleep, usually for about 2 - 3 hours.
• Tractors, trucks, trains, motorbikes, cars, planes and headers are his favourite things to play.
• His feelings are easily hurt and he doesn't like being in trouble.

There are no doubt a hundred more things that I could add to Freddie's two year old list but that's what comes to mind today ... now we are looking forward to the next 12 months.

SCRAPBOOKING MEMORIES MASTERS ...

.... have you got your copy yet?  No, me neither ..... I am not a subscriber but I am looking forward to picking up a copy and checking out the 10 lucky winners ... here are my entries ...  a single layout scrapbooking your greatest achievement ...

 

 

... this was one of my favourites, I don't often work with a white background, but like how this one turned out .... next up was a shape layout ....

 

 

... a cute cloud with some sleeping photos of Freddie .... a double page layout ....

 

and last of all was a beyond the page item ....

 

.... 4 small butterfly canvases placed together to form a large square .... now lives in Evie's room ... will be fun to see what the categories for 2010 will be.

Yesterday was another swimming carnival...lots of very   S E R I O U S   swimmers (and parents) in attendance ... let's just say that we weren't one of them!  Jack and Evie enjoyed the day ... Evie swam personal bests in her 4 races so she was very proud and Jack swam 2 PBs ....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

... Freddie in his jail for the day, he was such a good boy ... and this is where the kids hung out when they weren't racing ....

 

.... was a long day, but the kids had lots of fun.

Not much else to report ... Freddie is 16 months old today ...

 

 

... so love those eyelashes all clumped together after being in the pool ... at 16 months Freddie ....

• runs everywhere, why walk when you can go, go, go
• likes to decide what he will and won't eat .. for breaky he likes porridge or weetbix ... lunch is fruit, vegemite sandwich and yoghurt ... dinner is vege mash and a side plate of cut up meat and other steamed veges ... favourite snacks are rice crackers ... any foods that he doesn't like to eat are thrown over the shoulder for Ned
• has one big sleep every day usually for 3 hours ... sometimes he might have 2 smaller sleeps
• loves to read books
• loves to play in Jack's room and destroy lego
• swims in the pool every afternoon
• has 2 bottles a day
• points to things and people and babbles away in his own lingo, he "TALKS" all the time
• says, Mum, Dad, Eeeeeeee, Jack, Dot (the pig), shoe, Ned
• makes a gorilla sound when he wants something or just screams
• loves to copy what Jack and Evie are doing and eat what they are eating
• dances when he hears music
• loves his blue bear and dummy to go to sleep with
• is always happy to go to bed every night at about 7:30
• loves to visit Dot the pig in her pen every afternoon when we out at the pool
• is obsessed with the lawn mower and any of the motor bikes
• loves to eat dog biscuits
• has 10 teeth and 2 more on the way
• is starting to throw mini tantrums, cries and throws himself to the ground
• is usually happy and entertains himself

DECEMBER DOUBLE UP will go on sale Sunday night, I have had a few emails asking when ... ready for postage and local delivery Monday.

Freddie fell off a chair at swimming yesteray afternoon ...

 

just before Awards Night ... Jack made the comment that Freddie looked like nobody looks after him .... poor little Freddie .... I have decided that he likes walking with his shoes on ... today he got his shoes and brought them to me saying, "SUES" and I had to put them on for him ....

 

felt pens, books and now puzzles are his current obsessions ....

LAYOUT #2 FOR THE DECEMBER DOUBLE UP....

lettering is a combination of Sassafras stickers and Cosmo Cricket chipboard ... unfortunately no apostrophe in the Cosmo Cricket lettering ... journalling reads .... Feeding time at the zoo ... breakfast, lunch and dinner ... mess, mess and more mess .... 7 days a week!  Hope you like it, 3 more layouts to come.

Somebody in our family is finally walking ....

 

at 14 months, Freddie has decided that walking is much easier on the knees ... he has been taking steps for a while now but in the last couple of days he has been doing lots of walking ... he takes a few steps, then seats down and claps ... very cute ... that's it from me today, off to school Awards Night ... thanks for stopping by.  

 

HELLO NOVEMBER

... November!  Sounds hideous doesn't it?!?  Only 5 weeks remaining of school and 9 weeks until Christmas .... not really ready for all the busyness yet ... I guess it isn't going to wait for me so I need to get motivated.

... on Saturday we went to our first swimming carnival for the season in Chinchilla which is about 3 hours from home ... we were all blown away at the seriousness of it all ... I guess the other carnivals we have been to were more social .... anyway, the kids had a great day, Freddie included ... no ribbons or medals but lots of fun .... it was the first time Evie raced 50m butterfly and she nearly broke my heart ... she stopped about 5 times but made it to the end ...I was so proud of her ....  the poor little thing was shattered but says she will do it again ... go Evie ... she actually got a second and 2 firsts in her heats but nothing over all ....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I can't begin to tell you how good Freddie was ... I took a playpen (thanks Jode) because I knew that he wouldn't want to be in a pram all day .... he was like the club mascot, there were always kids in the playpen with him ... he even had a sleep in the pram amongst all the noise ...

 

... such a good boy .... needless to say, all the kids slept on the way home.

Took Freddie for his first swim at home yesterday ......

 

 

 

 

he L O V E D it ..... all he wanted to do was splash and splash some more .... he then discovered that it was fun to sit on the top step, climb out and then climb back in ... busy boy ... much busier than last year ....

 

he is beginning to take a few steps, not enough to call it walking ....

 

but quickly decides that crawling is more his thing ....

 

crawling and pushing cars is a bit of a favourite at the moment ...

 

just look at that cute little bum and chubby little legs ....

 

and just look at this mischievous boy ... talking to me through the kitchen window ... such a little climber ....

 

and this may look like an angelic face but that apple in his fat little hands was stolen out of his sister's lunch box ... now Eve has learnt to put her lunch box in her school bag and not leave it lying around for apple thieves!

Brett finished harvesting here at Bengalla last night .... I am gathering Christmas goodies and I have just about finished a layout with these funky little monsters ....
