SHE'S AWAKE

Remember all those photos of Polly sound asleep ... I was almost worried that her eyes were glued together .... I can now stop worrying, she is well and truly  A W A K E and happy to tell the world!  She is very vocal and there is no stopping until she is picked up or fed!  There is no way that this 4th child is going to be forgotten.  Thank goodness she sleeps really well during the night, still just waking once for a quick feed then straight back to sleep.  Just very random during the day, working on a routine.  Catching up on photos ...

Thursday Day 51, those eyes are looking decidedly blue, was kind of hoping for another brown eyed girl but don't think it's going to happen.

Friday Day 52, she loves looking at her hands and trying to get them in her mouth, this is her extremely concentrating look.

Sunday, Day 54, play time.

This was yesterday, Day 55, Polly was either sleeping or yelling .... this is a yelling shot as I was trying to get the clothes off the line ... let's just say that yesterday was a long day.

On Friday, the two big kids (Fred and Polly had a sleep over at Gran and Darra's) and us went to Redcliffe for Jack to compete in the Queensland Aquathon titles ... the weather was a bit wild which made the swim component challenging, but Jack had a fun time competing .... was nice to have a night away from the littles too ....

Jack came 29th out of about 80 boys, not bad for a country kid who doesn't swim in the open water much.  Please note that some of the above photos (the really clear and crisp ones) were taken by another Mum, thanks Bec.

Lots of swimming coming up in the next couple of weeks, I feel tired thinking about it.

HELLO

Just waiting up to feed Polly before I go to bed so thought I would share Polly's 365 photos ...

Saturday Day 46 Freddie loves nursing his little sister, check out her fingers!

Sunday Day 47, Polly and Freddie having a snuggle in our bed.

Monday Day 48, Polly loves nude time.  She is so long and has so much hair happening at the back of her head.  Not a great look considering the hair at the front is thinning out at a rapid rate!

Day 49, ready for a trip to town.  We were at the Chemist so I quickly weighed her .... a whopping 6kg, she is certainly not starving.

Today, Day 50, seven weeks old.  Finally her rash is clearing up but her skin is so dry.

The top photo is Freddie taken on Day 50 and so is the photo of Polly ... I think that the only similarity is their chubbiness!

the love affair between Doug and Fred continues ... so much so that I don't know what Fred did before Doug came along, he loves him to bits.

Almost as much as all things Apple ...

ipod, iphone or ipad, he isn't fussy, he loves them all! An apple addict for sure.

CATCHING UP

It's official .... LIFE IS DEFINITELY BUSIER WITH 4 .... Iam thinking that that particular statement is a no brainer, of course life was going to be busier with another child, what was I thinking!?!  Polly continues to be an easy bubba but I had forgotten how time consuming babies are.  Jobs are put on hold because I know how fleeting these newborn moments are.

Catching up on Polly's 365 photos ...

Day 35 .... I saw this idea somewhere in cyberspace ... take a photo each month of your baby in a clothes basket and see how much they have grown in 12 months ... this is Polly at one month.

Day 36, reached the 5 week milestone ... Polly was weighed today, 5250 grams, 61cm and her head circumference is 38.5cm ... she has grown 5cm in length already and looks at those rolls.

Day 37 ... Polly has a nasty rash on her face, according to the Doctor there is nothing that can be done about it ... I remember that Fred had the same thing about the same age .... hiding from the camera here.

Day 38, hanging out in the pram at the town pool as the kids had a qualifying swim meet.

Day 39, an entire day at home ... Polly is becoming fond of her dummy and it definitely helps when she is fighting sleep.

Day 40 "watching" the kids swim in the pool at home ... last night was the first time that Polly slept for a total block of 6 hours, looking foward to more of that!

Day 41, play time.  Polly is certainly less sleepy now.  She still feeds every 4 hours and roughly is awake for an hour and a half and then sleeps for 2 and a half hours between each daytime feed .... not always but that's what we are aiming for.

Day 42, ready for another road trip.  Off to Toowoomba for the night to get some loving from Gran!

Day 43, a quick photo with Darra and Fred before we head home.  Six weeks today, my goodness, those six weeks have absolutley flown by.

Day 44, I love the moments when Polly sleeps soundly.  No matter how much noise or where she is, she just keeps sleeping.  I love how peaceful she looks when she is sounds alseep, Ireally could watch her all day.

Day 45, today, outside watching Fred have a swim.  Polly has started to smile, they are a treat and melt my heart everytime but impossible to catch with the camera.

In other news, life continues to revolve around swimming at the moment ... all the hard work of the season is coming to an end and that means quite a few carnivals.  Last Friday was our qualifying meet to get a place in our Zone swimming team ... for the first time, Eve made it ...

so excited for her .... both her and Jack now go to the next level to earn a spot in the Darling Downs team.

Nothing else too exciting, just the usual cooking, washing, cleaning, feeding, cooking, washing, cleaning, feeding, you get the picture!

Now this photo makes me smile .... it is a rare moment indeed to find these two happily hanging out together, actually enjoying spending time with each other .... I think I need to enlarge this one!

DAY 34 ALREADY

Can you believe that Polly has reached the one month milestone already .... unbelievable really ... she is now spending more time awake and is beginning to take a greater interest in her surroundings ... today was her first time under the play gym and she definitely likes her musical mobile in her cot .... catching up with her 365 photos ....

Day 31, love baby feet and hands, so perfectly cute.

Day 29, here's Polly letting us all know that she is ready for a bottle ..... Freddie is a very good big brother, he puts her dummy in and sometimes if that doesn't work, he tries his finger!

Day 30, during the day at home, Polly has her lunch time sleep in the pram so that she doesn't disturb Fred during his sleep (they share a room) .... I often find her with her blanket pulled up over her head.

Day 31, Polly loves to wriggle her arms out of her blanket and either throws them up over her head or over her eyes .... looks like she is hiding from the camera.

Day 32, Freddie and Polly had a sleep over at Gran and Darra's while we went to Brisbane for Jack's swimming.

Day 33, hanging out with her big brothers.

Day 34, Polly watching her mobile as she drifts off to sleep.

Jack swam at the Queensland Sprint Championships in Brisbane at Chandler on Saturday ...

he swam new PBs in Backstroke, Butterfly and Breaststroke and made the final for Breaststroke ... was seeded 8th and finished 8th in the final .... he has been trying to crack under 30sec for his 50m Free and just missed out .... very proud of all his swims, seeing as he had his birthday in January, he was swimming with all the 12 year olds .... he is now looking forward to the Qld School Swimming Titles at the end of March.

 

Not much else to report, Fred and Doug continue their love affair, they really are the best of mates.

Just reading my last post and realised that I never got back to sharing the February Double Up goodies .... here they are, fabulous value at $60 ... still a few packs available here .
