THE CHRISTMAS THAT WAS ...

Our Christmas was spent with Brett's family, about 34 altogether I think, at Copeton Dam.   It was the perfect Christmas, action packed, well, for some, with loads of Christmas cheer .... my photos tell the story perfectly ...

Our view from the Bunk House where we spent Christmas ... the tent was our base during the day.

 There was so much excitement on Christmas morning .... I was surprised that the two big kids woke up in the middle of the night to inspect the loot in their Santa sacks, so grown up in many ways but still kids at heart ... they could not wait for Freddie to wake up on Christmas morning ... they weren't disappointed, he was very excited with all his Santa presents ... after breaky, we opened all the gifts under the tree, in every photo, Freddie has his tongue out concentrating hard ... the doctor set from Gran and Darra was a big hit and Dr Feelgood was kept busy!

The cousins gave Jack a make over which he willingly sat for ... scary outcome and the mascara took forever to wash off.

The rest of the Christmas break was spent on the water (or eating) ..... skiing, tubing, kneeboarding, kayaking, splashing, fishing and just having fun.  A fabulous Christmas was had by all.

CUTE LITTLE RUDOLPH POPS

Evie and I made these super cute little Rudolph pops and thought we should share ... you need oreo biscuits, cooking chocolate, white chocolate chips, jaffas, pretzels, paddle pop sticks and white fudge icing.

1. Melt the chocolate and a small amount of chopha so that the chocolate is a runny consistency.

2.  Separate all the oreo cookies and place one half on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

3.  Cut the pretzels in half, these will be the reindeer antlers.

4.  Place a small blob of melted chocolate on one half of the oreo, add the antlers and the paddle pop stick, then place the other half of the oreo on top.  Place in fridge for a few minutes to set.

5.  Cover your oreo with melted chocolate, both sides and place on tray.

6.  Add white chocolate chip for eyes, using a toothpick to carefully dob some melted chocolate for the centre of each eye and add a jaffa as a nose.  Place in fridge to set.

7.  When set, use the fudge icing to draw on a mouth.  Then wrap in cellophane and tie with ribbon.

Not only do they look cute, the kids assure me that they taste good too.

A BIRTHDAY GIRL

Yesterday, our Evie turned 11 ... an entire eleven years ago since she entered our world in a big hurry without too much fuss ...

our gorgeous brown eyed girl, a tiny pink bundle of cuteness ...

She remains our brown eyed girl ... fortunately we have well and truly passed the DARK & STORMY stage ... tantrums are fewer these days, thank goodness ... she hasn't really changed a great deal in eleven years, let's hope she doesn't in the next eleven either.

Evie celebrated her birthday with three of her friends ...

and of course, there is no show without Fred ...

They enjoyed an action packed day and looked after themselves really ... growing up is sometimes a good thing!

Last week, Jack swam at the Queensland Swimming Championships in Brisbane ... was a huge experience for him (rubbed shoulders with James Magnussen) and he did really well ... 14th in the 200IM taking 9 seconds on his PB .... 16th in the 100m Butterfly, taking 10 seconds of his PB .... 12th in the 100m Freestyle, shedding 5 seconds ... and 6th in the 100m Breaststroke ... he was so excited to make the Breaststroke final ... it was just like the professional swimmers with each swimmer being annouced and cheered, I was nervous for him!

Not bad for a boy from the bush ... a worthwhile experience as Jack has realised that hard work pays off and he can mix it with the city kids ... he is pumped about his next meet.

Only two weeks and 2 days to go until baby Prosser makes his or her entry (fingers crossed) .... looking forward to getting through all the Christmas and New Year festivites ... hope all is jolly and bright in your world, thanks for stopping by.
